hey how goes it frustrating i know when you are just beginning but hang in there it gets easier! to answer your question NO you do not have to use nero i myself use roxio the thing to do is right click on your desktop create new folder then name the folder something like copiedmovies.ISO or what ever the ext. is the key .ISO then when you open dvd shrink go to edit click preferences then in target output size click custom then enter the size of 4360 this will keep the movie from burning to the very edge of the disk then choose the open disk tab and choose the drive the disk is in you want to compress after it is done analysing then if there is no red in the green bar at top of shrink window you are ready to choose back up tab a window will appear and select back up target choose .ISO image file then under select target image file choose browse go to the folder you created on your desktop and choose it then hit ok it then saves your movie as an .ISO image when it is done open whatever program you wish to burn with select the burn image to disk option and burn the file to disk and that should be it good luck let me know if this helped

Man your post would have been so much more helpful if only you would have stuck some punctuation in there in a couple spots. It makes it very hard to follow, especially if someone is new to the process and doesn't understand everything. Also, if you get a chance you might try ImgBurn as your burn engine. It is free and serves its purpose very well. Not trying to knock Roxio, but in my experience it is a resource hog and not very user friendly (on more than one occasion it hijacked my drives).
