Why does my PS3 say theres only 10gb on my external hard drive?

Well as the title says.

Basically I plugged in my external 60gb hard drive which is formatted to FAT32 into my ps3 and i selected the backup data. I selected my external hard disk and it said theres only 10gb on it! But on the computer it says theres 57gb! How is this possible? Help would be gladly appreaciated! Thanks

Format the HDD and check. If not, try filling the HDD up with 11GB of data and see if it accepts.

Have you formatted the hdd on your PC? If that is the case if you did a windows format, windows will only format hdds in fat format upto only 10gb. Stupid I know but thats windows for you.

you will need to download a program which will let you format large drives in fat format. Check other thread to find the program.

If you did do this then remember that you will have to delete the partition that was created, then format it, otherwise you will still have a 10gb partiton and a 30/70gb partition on the hdd.
