ps3 60gb red/yellow/green flashing lights on power up

i have a ps3 60gb that start flashing red/green/yellow light and won't power up .only stay in stay by mode. i had my ps3 sent into he fixed and was useing my sister ps3 for like 2 days. i used my HDIM cable and power that i had on my ps3 her ps3 power it self off and is now doing the samething as mine. i hav't download anything on other then on psn or upgrade's in fw.

The yellow light indicates hardware failure.

yea i know that . BUT don't understand is she had her ps3 for 2 years.her ps3 was working fine t'll i used my power cable and HDIM on.
and less then 1 mouths having two ps3 have hardware failures. i'm trying why find out why is hardware failureing at all. could samething be wrong with my power cable or HDIM etc . or i'm just really unlucky XD

Well there could be a short in one of the cables that could potentially fry the power supply or the RSX.
