Hi, I plan on buying a PS3 within the next few weeks, however I've come across a few issues I need to sort out. I apologize for the length of the post, I'm trying to be as descriptive as I can.
1st issue: I've been using a VGA (and DVI) monitor for my Xbox360 with no problem, but I realize the PS3 doesn't support VGA. My monitor does not support HDCP, so a component>DVI cable won't work. I've narrowed it down to three products:
If anyone knows which is the most reliable/best value for money, or of a better product, I'd be grateful.
2nd issue: Does the PS3 support the 16:10 ratio? My monitor is 1440x900 and I have no idea how the picture will turn out. If I set my Xbox360 to a low resolution, the monitor just stretches the image to fit, i.e. it doesn't support using borders. If I set it to a higher resolution, it stretches off the sides of the screen, but only by a few pixels each side so I've been able to put up with it just fine. What will happen with the PS3?
Thanks in advance for any help, it's going to be really hard to enjoy my PS3 if I end up having to play in SD.
