when i turn on my ps3 there is static audio that is fairly loud being played on my tv even on mute, and even when audio plugs are removed (red+white), and transparent lines going from the bottom to the top at a fairly steady pace.

hoping there is some type of fix.

Sounds like there might be something wrong with the A/V input on your TV. Try a different input, or a different device in the suspected input.

This doesn't sound like a PS3 problem but something with your TV. If you're getting sound with no audio plugged in then the audio isn't coming from the PS3. What do you use to connect your PS3 to your TV?

i am using the AV hookups (yellow, red, white RCA jacks). but when i hook up my wii or 360 or n64 or snes to these jacks they all work fine. if i were to guess it seems like there is some electrical signal getting mixed in with the video signal, but i really dont know. i have not tested out hdmi seeing as i dot have a hdmi capable tv.

also it still creates this static humming when you turn off the ps3, even when you turn the switch in the back, you physically remove power to make it stop the buzzing and cycling transparent lines. this is all with just the yellow rca jack plugged in.
