Is this a good tv for the ps3 and for blu-rays? I just want to know if the tv I have really makes the ps3 worth wild then just its ok. I also have the HDMI cable on it

It's Ok. Your tv only does up to 1080i. While you are getting all of the lines of information, every line is just not getting up-dated as frequently. The contrast ratio is on the low side at 3000:1 but thats better than a poke in the eye. But anyway, Yes, Blu will give you 1080 lines of information and you will get to see all of them.

No doubt that it will look better than 480. If you are new to HDTV thow, your gona get pissed or wonder why some movies play in theateratical (spelling?) version and you only have @720 lines of info on the sereen with black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. That is normal for some films. Games will look great as almost all of them are in 1080 and will fill the screen. Enjoy.

It's not necessarily "720" lines for a movie. Some movies are just framed in a wider aspect ratio than most 16:9 HDTVs.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspect_ratio_(image)

What this means is that yes, there are going to be some black borders on the top and bottom of your movie, but this is also exactly the same thing that happens at movie theatres, as it projects films of various aspect ratios onto a 16:9 screen (I'm inferring here), leaving some amount of "black" borders on the top and bottom.

...either way, that TV is fine for HD playback. The most important thing is that it has HDMI inputs, which is what you really need for the best HD video for your PS3.
