Hi Guys.
I've been using DVD shrink for ages and using Nero to burn the files onto dvd. Shrink goes through the process of encoding the files but when it starts to burn I automatically get the fully error.
I previously had the same problem and I changed the make of dvds I was using to Verbatim, after your advise. Can you please help again.

This is an area that needs attention. Those discs you're using are less than adequate, and most definetly don't enjoy a good reputation here at aD. Try using Verbatims and/or Taiyo Yuden brands....very nice stuff.*See Edit:*
One question though, was DVDShrink the only program you used to process your dvd before you started to burn? This may well be the reason for your un-successful project. Shrink hasn't been updated in many-a-year and so cannot handle the protections around the latest movies out there.
Here's a link to AfterDawns "ultimate back-up guide"
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/673257
Have a read through and select what proggy you prefer to rip your dvd's. As a suggestion only, try DVDFab HD Decrypter. This freeware app is very highly regarded.
http://dvdfab.com/free.htm Don't forget to read the individual guides......there's some great help in them thar pages. :)
Cheers.
EDIT: How the heck did I see mmc and translate that into cmc mag I'll never know. Thanks to Alkohol and sorry..very sorry to scoobysue.
Dyslexia rules ko?

What movie are you trying to backup? DVD Shrink haven't been updated in ages, so it can't handle all these new protections (i.e. corrupted cells, pgcs, vts and Sony's ARccOS). Get the latest from DVDFab HD Decryter here http://www.dvdfab.com/download/DVDFab5118Beta_avangate-689.exe

Not sure if this the current firmware, get the latest for your burner if only you haven't done so. It plays a big role when it comes to burning and media compatibility.

MCC is a good media (VERBs). I've burned hundreds of them and have not had any issue with them. Again, try to update your burner's firmware if you haven't done so.

Try to speed up the burning speed like 4X - 8X. With current firmware, 8X should be just fine. 2.4X is way too low, burning too low won't solve the problem.

Thanks for he help.
I have DVD Fab which I was using before using Shrink and burning with Nero.
I've now realised that I have Nero Recode and I have tried to burn with this and everything seems to be working OK. However, one small problem, I can't seem to burn anything quicker than 2.4X, if I try 4X or higher I get an error saying the burn had failed (sorry guys but I didn''t copy the message before trying again).
I am using Verbatim Dvds.
Any suggestions to improve the speed.

VERBs are good media. Been burning them more than hundreds flawlessly.
So you saying you can't burn anything higher than 2.4X? Something is wrong there, sounds like burner/hardware issue. Like I said earlier, have you updated your burner's firmware lately?

Be sure that you don't multitask during any of your backup processes. If possible try and free up some of your memory. Depending on what is happening in the background, 103MB may or may not be enough.

These two questions are going to seem really stupid, but when it comes to computers I'm a bit of a novice.
1. How do I update my firmware?
2. How do I free up memory?.
When I'm burning I don't use my Laptop, as I was finding it was running really slow.
Again thanks for any help you can give.
