Hello everyone; I would like to start off by saying that I am a long-time reader, first time poster on this forum. You guys have always been able to help me with any problems I have had. That being said, I have been having a problem and I am at wits end trying to get it resolved.
I upgraded to Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit. Now, I was disappointed to find that Nero 6 didn't work, but found that Nero 7 did. So, getting a bundled copy of Nero 7, I am not entirely sure which version it is at the moment as I am not in front of my home PC, but I know that in order for it to even be installed in Vista I needed to manually download the newest version from Nero's site and simply use the bundled disc to prove I owned a previous copy.
Anyway, getting to the point here; DVDShrink does not recognize that Nero is installed. If I remove DVDShrink, and then re-install it, then it works fine running and then burning with Nero. If I close it, however, the next time I open the program (DVD Shrink), it will say that Nero is not installed and I will have to uninstall and then reinstall Shrink again. I apologize if this has been posted before, but I've scowered Google and the forums to no avail. Its Vista Ultimate x64 SP1, if that matters. Please, at least point me in the right direction; I am tech-savy and for the life of me cannot find a solution!

Under "Edit, Preferences, File I/O" do you have Enable Burning with Nero checked?

Yes I do. When at the backup option, unless DVD Shrink has just been installed, then it says "To enable Burning please install Nero" or something to that effect. Checking the Nero version I am using Nero 7 Essentials. Under Nero StartSmart Essentials, it is version 3.10.1.7. Thanks.

Are you logged in as an administrator? If not, try that and see if it helps.

You, sir, are a genius! Right click and 'Run as Administrator' works perfectly; if I run it normally it says Nero is not installed, but doing that it picks up Nero every time. Thank you thank you thank you! I can't believe it was something so simple; I knew afterdawn would have the answer to my problem :D Happy Thanksgiving all, and thanks again!

Nero 9 and Shrink don't play well together as far as autoburning goes.
1. In Dvd Shrink, output to ISO then burn manually with Nero.
2. Use Imgburn.
