Hi Guys, just got an 80GB PS3, but was wondering whether it is possible to play my PS2 games? Whether it is possible to downgrade it like you can with the PSP?

80 GB as in the one that came with the dual shock 3 and no games. No. sorry to inform you that the version you have will only play PS1 and PS3 games. The only 80GB PS3 that has backwards compatibility is the one that was bundles with Motostorm 1(game included in the box) and the 80GB bundled with MGS4 and a dual shock 3 controller (again the games is packed in the box)
No. You can't downgrade, hack, flash etc etc the PS3. The PS3 to date is the only next gen console that has not been hacked.

I don't know if hacking the ps3 will help with the b/c. I know the 60gb ps3s had the emotion chip from the ps2 in it. The 80gb system that had b/c used software emulators, buy Sony stopped using those too. when someone finally hacks the ps3, i don't know if they will be able to do the emulators.
