Asian PS3 button swap (x and o) HELP !!!

I have just brought a ceramic white ps3 from japan,
and it has the button swap (x to cancel and o to confirm) !
I wanted to know is there a way to change this and does this apply when playing pal games etc. or is the button swap only for the menus ????

i don't know if you can cancel that. but when i played japanese games on my ps2 0 was always the confirm. have you tried playing the games, both us and japanese. it shouldn't affect games. also a japanese ps3 is ntsc not pal. so you may have a problem there. unless this is a special pal one or something. JP and US use NTSC. hope it helps.

That is based on the system and not the controller so there is nothing you can do. I bought the white Dualshock from Japan before they were out in the U.S. and I didn't have that problem, but I paired it to a U.S. console. You could mod tthe controller by resoldering and desoldering some leads but that wouldnt be fun at all.

And it would make things very confusing when you are actually in game.
