I dont know anything about opening a port. if i need to?

It is the new bittorrent version and i have v*rgin media with a micradigital wireless router. Can anyone help me with the download speed as running at 1-7 kbs and the icon at the bottom was green at first but now yellow.

Yes, you need to forward a port over 10,000 with a router but your ISP is blocking you: http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs Don't know how much it will help but find your router (Belkin ?) and click through: http://www.portforward.com/english/route...routerindex.htm Probably need a static ip address too: http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm You'll need to set your upload speed to around 80% for best result's. Use some kind of ip blocker too, like Peer Guardian unless on Vista and then the beta. None are 100% but better than nothing.

You can also try turning off your router, modem and reboot your computer. That often can help. Virgin may have a different set of attacks. You may have the most nasty IPS in the world.
Mine used to be the nastiest but I suspect they lost too many customers and now cut everyone a little slack. They are in competition with a company that is putting in fiber and puts no limits on there customers because they are growing.

You can get single digits with dial up!

If none of that works...
Comcast hammers anyone that does P2P any time there is business hrs in the US. You can give a rest for a week then try just working the weekends. If that is OK try nights. Keep expanding your hrs until you get wacked. Then give it a rest for week and cut back to where you are OK. All the ISPs with Sandvines, that is what has probably been attacking you, program attack levels per some volume per month. You got up to 100 g/month level with 6 flicks in a week. As you acumulate more gigs downloaded you may move into a new attack level. You can't survive the highest level attack. It can deliver an attack every minute all day until you shut it down. It is a f*cking robot and can grind you into paste or just shut you down. I know Virgin can block sites if it wants to. I know more than one person that could not use any trackers for a month. Sometimes you have to give in to excessive force. Try changing ISPs or be more careful.
