Hi everyone.

I was trying to create AVCHD discs using this guide

http://www.bitburners.com/articles/creat...g-tsmuxer/4047/

I can get the video and audio to work fine but the subtitles are giving me problems. Usually, my mkv's have subtitles embedded in them and in tsMuxer, i just select those streams to use in my AVCHD. Every time no subtitles show up but the option to turn on subtitles is there on the PS3. It says English stream but nothing shows up. I also tried using a .srt file with sub and again it didn't work. Has anyone successfully made AVCHD discs from mkv's with subtitles? If so, can someone please help me

Thanks.

You might need to apply an offset. In the Subtitle tab in tsMuxeR, in the field "Bottom Offset, pixels" apply something closer to 80 for 1080p mkvs or 60 for 720p mkvs.

I tried it with a large offset, like 160. Still doesn't work. If you read the comments at the bottom of the link I have in my first post, you'll see a lot of people complaining about this problem.

Yeah, I can mux srt sub files fine. Your mkv's, are they AVCHD/Blu-ray compliant resolutions? I mean 1920x1080 (not 1920x816) or 1280x720 (not 1280x544). If not the subs will not display, unfortunately your BitBurners guide doesn't mention this. If this is the case the only way to fix it is to recode and add the addition black widescreen bars. Then your subs will work fine.

The resolution of the mkv is 1920 x 1080. The video plays fine without any green bars or anything. Just can't get the subtitles to show up.

You are sure it is .srt (SubRip), and not just .srt. Have you tried opening in Subtitle Workshop then saving as Srt (SubRip)?

Other than that, I have no idea.

Ya. I tried that as well. Didn't work.

Just wondering, where in the AVCHD file structure is the subtitles stored? Are they embedded in the .m2ts video file or are they somewhere else?

They are not "embedded", that would mean they are part of the actual video. The subs are contained in the m2ts files along with the audio and video streams in the STREAM folder.

The data in the CLPI files contain the information on when certain items should be play, like subtitles.
