of course it does ... and really in my opinion this is the success that microsoft has had with these liteon drives...

i predict they will continue to use them even though the hacked firmware is available cause its such a complicated process...

really the easiest way to hack one of these drives is to just pay someone who has the hardware and knows exactly how to do it ... so much simpler than attempting it yourself...

Hey bro well I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right xtractor reader sees my lite on drive but when I click read key I get that error and I think the problem is I don't have the USB drivers because when I go to device manager I don't see the USB serial convertor but I installed the drivers manually

I have the same problem, I have downloaded and installed numerous driver files for the usb to serial converter or extractor tool but none get recognized by windows and therefore cannot get an extraction. no usb serial converter or new port in device manager ever appears after installation and rebooting. Did you guys figure this out, if you have, please help I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm having the same sort of issue. I bought a "Connectivity kit V3 Solderless USB key Probe Liteon" from DIYGadget. I'm using the tutorial found here:
http://www.tiaowiki.com/w/Xbox_360_Lite_...B_Key_Extractor

I'm haveing trouble instal the drivers for the USB Liteon Key Extractor. Windows give me a error saying that the drivers for the device are not installed, even though I have installed them several times. Using XtractorReader it recognizes my 360 connected to my SATA port but when I try to get key and files I get "error opening com port. If I click ditect com port I get: "No USB ports found, by default the first COM port is selected", then "run-time 380" "invalid property value" and the program closes.

Help would be appreciated.

My PC is 64bit with dualcore, but I'm running Vista Ultimate 32bit.
In the device manager the Extractor is listed under other devices as USB-Serial Controller using Port_#0003.Hub_#0001.

well u should install portio and make sure a serial port shows up

portio will be shown at the device manager(u'll find an image showing it in this thread)
then determine the usb controller has used which com port? u'll find it under ports

Here is a pic of my Device Manager. As you ca see there is no parts category. However PortIO32 is listed in the last category. The location in both of the PortIO32 properties is listed as Unknown.

I hope I'm allowed to post imagebam likns here.

I downloaded the driver for it but when I intall it windows tell me the driver is not working. Perhaps the driver is not Vista compatible, athough it was the only driver they had for it. I will try a commercial xtractor driver as you suggested.

I downloaded the driiver for the Xtractor By Maximus. I was able to start reading the key and I got "Error Sending ATAPI Inquiry (TIMEOUT)". I will search the forums now while I wait for an answer here.
