hi guys, i now have a sony bravia tv for my ps3, im running 1080p...i find that when im on the menu screen on the ps3 the brightness dims on it..its fine when the games are running but i dont like it when it dims on the main menu because its dark, i didnt have this problem with my old hitachi 42 inch hdtv in 1080i. anyone else had this problem? iv tried messing around with some settings but i dont know lol :(
Do you happen to have the brightness settings on the PS3 lowered? Go to Settings-->Theme Settings-->Wallpaper-->Brightness. At least I think that's the path... Anyway, you might have that thing turned way down loooow...
When I created my custom theme, the backgrounds always conflicted with the icons (green on green/blue ain't a nice mix on the PS3, apparently), so I had to dim the background brightness a bit. It sucked, 'cuz it looked fine on the theme creator's preview, but oh well. What can y'do?
Its fine when playing because movement is detected on screen, your PS3 defaults to screen dim after 5 mins to protect your TV from image burn when theres no movement, hence the XMB.
it is not the theme i have tried changing that, and it isnt the screensaver. when i am messing around on the menu it goes dark and also when im like playing a game and then hit the ps button to go on the xmb it starts bright and then darkens....:(
