What to do when DVD Shrink is not shrinking the file?

I used DVD Shrink to open a downloaded 7.84 GB DVD file (VIDEO_TS) and it used to be that the Automatic Compression Settings would make the size under 4,464 MB. Somehow it's not working on this file and it turned out to be 5,573 MB. When I tried and selected Custom Ratio, it's 55.7% and not going any lower. I unchecked an audio track and some subtitles and it's still too big, 5,208 MB. How can I do to make it right?

Run the movie through DVD Shrink as normal and save to a folder.
Open that folder and let DVD Shrink run again.

Thanks a lot. I did it before and it did shrink from 7.84 GB to 5.44 GB. Then again to 4.77 GB, and again under 4,464 MB. I would more like to know if there's any solution for this situation other than repeating backuping.

I don't know of a solution - except re-authoring a movie disk to take only the main title - I've only seen this happening the odd time with TV series episodic disks - but people seem to run into it from time to time with regular movies.

That's true. I sometimes backup the main movie only. It's great that I can study and find my own way to work things out or come here and learn from some experienced people. Thanks again.

I've used Roxio 6 on movies that DVD Shrink can't handle in one turn.

Roxio is troublesome, and can conflict with other programs.
@hsiungo
Don't forget that using Deep Analysis is also a helpful (albeit a little time consuming) factor.
Also, sometimes certain copy protections can produce the "false red bar" and make it appear that a movie is entirely too large to fit properly on an SL disc.

Thanks 7thsinger, thank you all. You've been helping. That's right, Deep Analysis is helpful and 'false red bar' is annoying. Good to know more about everything.

I've been using it for a couple years now and it has been a reliable backup option when CloneDVD has failed me.

No offense was meant, just my humble experience and input from other regulars here.

DVD Rebuilder may be able to tackle it in one shot.

No offense was taken. Just stating that while others may have had issues, I found it a reliable alternative when DVDShrink no longer was supported or updated. Could have just been a difference in the way people processed their files before trying to use it that made the difference.
