Hi mrgregory,

I'd recommend DVD Shrink, this should do the job for you and it's free.

Thanks gemsie. I downloaded it but when I go to add the files of the movie I get a error. Saying it failed to open the file I was trying to open and the system cannot find the file specified.

If you've a copy of Nero try using Nero Vision to create a 11GB single image file (it's under the create a DVD option), and then run that through Shrink to make it a suitable size.

What file format have you downloaded it in?

That's a good question. Not sure what file format it is.

Too big to fit on one DVD-5.

So you saying there's no way to shrink it down with any of these programs and I need a dual layer DVD-R?

DVD Shrink does exactly that - compresses and removes unwanted bits until it fits onto a DVD5.

You'll need to get the file format sorted out through first.

Ok I figured out it was a AVI file. Is there something I need to do different?

Shrink can only do so much. Try running an 8GB+ DVD thru Shrink... it won't get it down to a DVD-5.

The OP has now explained it to be AVI, the question now is not the size but what is the running time?

Are you sure about the 11GB size? That just doesn't make sense. Usually there would be 2 700MB AVI's.

Usually you would join with AViDemux then convert with DVD Flick, both free.

I got it. I had to use AVS. I had to use one program to combine the two files then I had to use another to shrink it down so I can fit it on one disc. I just copied it to the disc, about to check and see if it works in my dvd players.

If you just copied it to disc then it's probably not going to work, unless you have a divx player that is.

I usually convert mine to DVD format using WinAVI, then burn it using Nero as a DVD Video.

Good luck!

Worked just fine. I watched it last night. It played on all my players. I noticed that there are different qualities you can download in like DVD NTSC High Quality and DVD NTSC Good quality. The high quality would only let me get 108 minutes on it while the good quality let me get 162 minutes on it. I didn't see any difference in quality since i've done movies in both. I learned a lot about conversion and all that stuff with this one movie though lol.

I can't remember if I used Nero Vision or if I just did the whole thing in AVS. I think I just added all the files in AVS.
