I am trying to send a 5 GB of HD video to the ps3. I cannot seem to do it.
I have tried sending it over Red Kawa (i get an error presumably becuase it is too big), i tried moving to my psp memory stick but it keeps saying it is full (i have a 8gb stick with 6.5GB free and it wont allow a 4.8 GB video!?).
I have googled this for a while but the results just say 'Red Kawa'.
TVversity seems to fail me too by making it transcode the video and thus loses the HD. Any help please?
1.) What format is the video? (.mkv, .m2ts, .avi, etc.)
2.) The PSP memory stick is - presumably - fat32 formatted, so it won't be able to hold files larger than 4GB.
3.) What's Red Kawa supposed to be? For the uninformed, such as I.
4.) TVersity won't - or shouldn't, at least - create any loss in quality. Try copying the video over by streaming it with TVersity, and see if the filesize is the same as the original (4.8GB).
5.) You can also burn the video onto a dual-layer DVD and copy it onto the PS3's hard drive that way. If the video isn't PS3-compliant, though, like an .mkv video, then you'll have to remux it with mkv2vob or tsMuxer.
6.) AND you can split the video into 2GB or so chunks as a last resort.
Remux the video to .m2ts, and copy to the HDD, this is the only way... without using hard media. M2TS has no file size limitation on the PS3's HDD, everything else is limited to 4GB
Yeah, that's what I mean. Maybe I should've worded it differently. What I mean is that I'm getting the impression that you're saying the PS3's hard drive won't fit anything greater than 4GB unless it's an m2ts file.

I always thought that wasn't the case.
Files on the PS3's HDD...
M2TS = unlimited file size
Everything else = 4GB or less.
M2TS files over 4GB cannot be transfered back to the PC or storage device without another OS installed.
So again, if I have an .avi film that's, let's say, uncompressed - all 20 GBs or so - would I not be able to put it on the PS3's hard drive (without remuxing it)?
