Do i need a FLASH player to watch movies of the net from my PS3, if not what software do i need and how to install it?
A step by step guide would be useful please, as i am fairly newby to PS3 and PC.
First this thread may be deleted as the title is not really all that descriptive. Anyway, the PS3's stand alone browser is more than capable to watch videos off the net with out installing additional software. Youtube and other sites that utilizes flash players works fine in the PS3's browser. Just last night I watched a live video steam of a hockey game.
In addition to that, you'll need to install the latest firmware updates, too. If your PS3 isn't connected to the internet (either wirelessly or by cable), then you can also use a flash drive or memory stick or whatever you want.
1.) A flash drive is just another term for a USB drive, a jump drive, a thumb drive, a memory stick, etc. You know, those lil' sticks that you can stick into USB drives?
2.) As for updating to firmware, just go to Settings->System Update->Update via Internet, and agree to the terms, etc., etc., and the PS3'll begin updating to the latest firmware version... which is 2.60, I believe.
3.) If you want, you can also download the update to a flash drive (as noted above). In the root folder of the flash drive (when you go to My Computer->YOUR DRIVE NAME), create these folders: PS3->UPDATE. Put your update file in the UPDATE folder and stick that in your PS3 and you should be good to go. Instead of clicking on "Update via Internet," choose the other option - "Update from a Storage Device" or something.
4.) Try changing the thread title, or else Oner/creaky/someone'll get mad and use his(/her?) e-pen to close up this thread.
