(so on and so fourth. - see list above)
although some times they release additional content in another country out side your region. in that case, you will need a DVD player of that region in order to play it (or ps3 of that region)

Unlike DVD's, The PS3 GAMES are NOT locked to a particular
region. However the PS1/2 games and DVD's ARE locked to the region printed on the back of the PS3 Box.
will need conformation of this part but if you use your ps3 on an Standard definition TV, then you will have to make sure that the region is the same as your ps3 and colour signals. This is because different countries use a different Signal system. the US uses NTSC but the UK uses PAL.
also If you go to Japan, they use NTSC but there region is 2. the uk is also region 2 but it uses PAL.
