what does the region mean in the ps3?
are there any differences between all of them?
if there are differences what is the best region?
Last If i were to buy games that are region 2 and my ps3 is region 1 .would it work?
hey im no expert but since no1 replied yet ill give you my 2 cents. from my understanding region is just were the game originated from.i think theres an ntsc, pal and euro? or something like that. i think games you can play any region but with movies you have to keep with your regions. obviously there are some games in pal that we wont have in ntsc
As you can see from the second link, there are only two types of "region coding" for the PS3 - PAL and NTSC.
Here's the... the "basic" point of all this:
1.) All PS3 games can be played on all PS3s.
2.) However, if you're playing on an SDTV, your PS3 and SDTV must match - if you have an NTSC TV, you need an NTSC PS3.
3.) PS2/1 games and DVDs are region-locked, so if you have a Region 1 DVD, you'll need a PS3 that was bought from the USA/Canada/US territories/Bermuda.
4.) PS1/2 games are also region-locked, but their regions are different from DVDs and Blu-Ray.
5.) Some Blu-Ray discs might be region-locked, but thus far, the majority of BDs have been region-free.
