Playing my ps3 on my monitor...VIA GRAPHICS CARD?!?!

OK...Ive read all about the people connecting their ps3 to their monitor and how it has to be hdcp compliant etc

Ive got my ps3 connected to my 1024 nvdia 9600 graphics card...via HDMI lead with DVI converter


basically im told i now need some software that will allow me to use the ps3...i just wanna know if this will work...or if i need a new monitor, or whether this will do the job... http://www.hdfury.com/

please help guys, im getting really frustrated and im about to just go out and buy a new tv or monitor that can do what i need

That wont work. The reason is the DVI connections on the card are output only. Your better off getting a monitor thats has a HDMI input. The only issue is that the monitor may not have speakers so you will need an audio device for sound.

im buying one of these...i have the hdmi to dvi converter already and i ordered a RCA to stereo 3.5mm plug so i can get the sound sorted that way

will that work?

Yep that monitor is hdcp, it should work fine.

Thank you for contacting us regarding your 2233BW. I can advise that unfortunately the 2233BW is not HDCP-complaint so will not support HDCP devices.

Thats what i just got back from samsung...I hope theres a mistake as i have already paid for the new monitor now

I just called Samsung...and after about 20 minutes of the guy digging out the manual and looking around he tells me it DOES support HDCP

sigh...either hes wrong or the guy who answered my email is wrong
