I started out with a Sixaxis that When I dropped on the floor accidentally the L2 Button popped open I tried pushing it back into place, but I guess the spring got bent and the L2 button would keep on sticking. I ordered a new sixaxis that I've treated with more care, but then about 6 months later the L2 button wouldn't register sometimes and would stick sometimes after being pressed.
I then purchased a Dualshock 3 and I haven't yet come across those problems yet (only have had for 3 months). But, I need a second controller that has better reliability than the Sixaxis I've had.
I was wondering if the Dualshock 3 fixed the Trigger button problems (don't know if it was well known enough) or if I should buy a third party controller like Mad Catz (I had a problem with them too with the D-pad pressing left on it).
I just need a good PS3 controller with a good D-pad and the best possible functioning buttons possible I can get. I play PS2 games just as much as my PS3 games, so that PS2 controller converter wouldn't work (They only work with PS3 games since it discludes the PS button).
So I would just like to know if I should buy another Dualshock-3 or not.
I think the Dualshock 3 is a sturdier controller than the Sixaxis. For example, my friend has had a PS3 since launch day and since then he has been through 3 Sixaxis controllers. About six months ago, he purchased a Dualshock 3 and has had no problems with it at all.
I have had my Sixaxis for about a year now and nothing has gone wrong with it except the fact that the left analog sticks occasionally while playing. But that's from a years worth of holding down the left analog to sprint. =)
But I don't buy from Walmart, Amazon.com and Newegg has them for $43. I guess for choices the best I can buy is another DS3, since third party controllers still pale in comparison.
