I'm relatively new to PS3. I have Xbox 360 also. I know I can download a demo game on 360 with unit off. I started a demo doenload of Killzone 2 on my PS3. When I turned off PS3 the download seemed to stop. Can you download with PS3 turned off? Thanks.
Well, with the 360, if I'm not mistaken, it continues to stay "on" until the download is finished, and then it'll actually turn off. Like running on standby or something.
The PS3 has an option to do that, too, if you update to the latest firmware. You can set it to turn off automatically after downloading is complete.

Thanks. I have 2.6 firmware. I looked at settings, I didnt see that option. Where do you find it?
Hm... y'know, I actually don't know where that option is in the Settings. I do know, though, that if you're downloading something and decide to turn off your PS3 (at least by going to the left and up to "Turn off System"), then it'll automatically give you the option to turn off automatically after downloading is complete.
