Hi, I have an HP Laptop, D6000 or something. Windows XP. Anyway in the laptop is a MATSHITA ram.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD-RAM UJ-851S. I've been burning dvds for like 18 months now however a few weeks ago I had to reformat and reinstall windows. That also forced me to reinstall Shrink, Decryptor and Nero. However when I went to burn (reading and ripping worked fine) some DVDs again it has not been working.

I remember I may of had this problem when I first started burning and I think I used a non-Matshita firmware to trick my computer into thinking I was using a different drive then I was actually using. I can't for the life of me though remember what I did or how i did it.

As i said in the subject, I don't think the issue is the media I use since I've been using the same stuff for months now.

Does anyone know how to fix the issue? I posted my Shrink burning log below.

Thanks

Isn?t something wrong there??

If you are using DVD Shrink, try burning with ImgBurn.
(There is a special version of Shrink, which runs ImgBurn. I heard that NERO 8 & 9 does not work well with Shrink anyway.)

Regarding ODD firmware, once you updated (or changed) firmware, it won?t be changed back by itself even if you reformatted HDD.

(Edit: add Nerro 8 & 9 note)

Where do I get this special version of Shrink w/ ImgBurn? Or should I just use Shrink to create an ISO and then burn with imgburn?
