Hey guys, I have an issue I'd really appreciate some help with. I searched here an on some other websites but I have yet to find anything matching my particular issue so I figured I'd make a new thread.
My PS3, a 60 GB launch model, has gotten into this odd habit of freeze-framing while watching DVDs. The audio continues like nothing is wrong, but lo and behold - the video is completely frozen.
The longest I've had the patience to wait and see if it will fix itself and keep playing is about 5 mins, so beyond that I don't know if it will continue to play the video on its own. I will say that over that 5 min. period, there was a chapter change so that didn't fix it either.
Games have not given me any problems, not even my PS2DVD games. I play those all the time, sometimes for hours at a time. No problems at all. Blu-Ray playback I've had intermittent problems with (the worst being Nightmare Before Christmas freezing up the system completely, but that has seemed to subside).
What makes this really odd is, it freezes like this almost exactly 10 mins after I put in the DVD, like clockwork. Doesn't matter which DVD. The PS3 is not even slightly warm either so I don't feel like it's a heat issue. Does anyone have any ideas??? I'm at my wits end here.
