PS3 Cooling Fan... Any Use?

Hey guys

Just wondering if anyone's picked up one of those Cooling Fans for the PS3?

You may or may not have seen them before but you can pick them up for about 20 Euro in most game shops.

So what are they all about? Is it worth my hard earned?

I wouldn't recommend one, they apparently put stress on the main fan by forcing it to spin faster than its suppose to due to the new charge of air.

If you do get one though make sure that it uses its own ac adaptor and doesn't draw power for the ps3 for 2 reasons:

1.) Look at the sticky for the nyco intercooler in the 360 section, I think its still there. You'll get the drift for that immediately.

2.) Drawing more power from the ps3 makes it work harder and therefore run hotter so you're gaining heat unnecessarily.

If I were to get one, I'd get the one made by pelican.

To be honest it sounds like a bit of a pointless purchase. I was just curious to know if the were of any benifit. I reckon I'll put the money towards a game instead :)
