It sounds like a memory problem.
What are your system specs and what shrink version are you using.

well, since it is a recorded disc, you don't need to use DVD Shrink to shrink it. You could use DVD Decrypter in iso-read, iso-write modes.

system spec - AMD Athlon 2000+, 512 MB DDR-RAM, 160GB hard drive ATI 9800 SE graphics card
It is not a pre-recorded disc, it is video that I have tranferred onto my hard drive with ATI.

Can you ply the file from the hard drive. I have a damaged file that causes the same message when I try to use DVDshrink.
If it plays then use Nero to put the file on a disc.

The latest DVDshrink is supposed to open incomplete files without the error.

I also had this problem with DVDShrink, after using DVD Decrypter. I even went so far as to download, install and run SmartRipper. I got the same error again when I launced DVDShrink directed to the SmartRipper file.
I was about to give up, then I relaunched DVD Shrink to get the error again so I could search these forums.
The second time I directed Shrink to the folder, without closing and relaunching the App itself, it worked fine.
I was able to duplicate the exact error and solution using DVD Shrink, with both DVD Decrypter and SmartRipper files, on a second computer, after ripping the same movie from the same DVD.
Very strange indeed!
