ok so ive now fixed my pc and am ready to flash my xbox, again!.
but before i do i want to ask a few questions so that i dont hav to com back here wth ne problems wjhile flashin the xbox.
last time round i gt an error saying 'warning serial data is bad'.
i looked around and found some forums sayin u need to power cycle it then do it again. is this true cos i didnt get the chance to test it. or is there another reason.
second question, why does the 'found new hardware' for the via sata card still keep comin up after installing port32 drivers.
cheers in advanced

Are you using the Probe/Spear or soldering to the drive?
Check C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers folder for the viamraid.sys file for the Found New Hardware problem.

As long as Windows doesn't re-install the drivers, just close out of the box.
As for the serial data, are you using rs232 or usb?

It could be the cause of your bad serial data problem. Do you have the usb drivers installed?

Make sure jungle flasher is looking at thecorrect com port as its default is com 1 which is for the serial cable. You need com 3 probably as this is what I needed for my USB cable. That should get rid of your bad serial data prompt.
Come talk with us on efnet at #elitemods !!! or just click ME

com1 shouldnt be the only option, if it is, then your usb drivers arent installed properly and that would be the cause of your problem.

then if the usb is the problem how would i fix it, cos i had the idea that the ck3 tool program which gave the driver was for the probe. i installed the driver.
for drivers ive installed ck3 tool driver and xbox i/o driver or somin

check in device manager and see if they are loaded. Check the com ports there, is there more than com1 listed? If not, you need to fix that first.

when i put the via sata card in only other devices show the device. at the bottom of the device manager the installed xbox 360 driver is there. and under ports n comms. com1 is only there.

Com 1 is the serial port on your computer motherboard unless it doesn't have one. If it doesn't, then that may be the usb device port. Are all drivers loaded now?

i havent really installed anything new. the xbox driver like i said it showing and i already installed the driver for ck3 tool. not sure if the ck3 tool one is the right driver. thats what i think is causing serial data bad error. but not sure.

no, only got a pc and a laptop, and cant do it on a laptop. so is it my pc that is the cause of the 'warning serial data is bad'.
