I've tried with many burners, a Samsung, an LG, Toshiba etc. following guides every time, but they never work. I've bought some burnt games, and they work perfectly fine.

I booktype every time, and use Verbatim 8x DVD+R DL discs.

When I put a game into my 360, I hear a light grinding noise, then the disc spins and stops over and over again, the light grinding noise continuing, then I get a "disc is unreadable" error.

Help please?

Oh yes, I forgot to include that.

I have a Hitachi/LG from 2005. It has iXtreme 1.4 on it. Would updating to 1.51 help?

You need to dump the FW off the drive, then open the FW in Firmware Toolbox or Jungleflasher and it'll tell you which FW is it.

Also, when you're updating, cleanse the lens on the drive. Could be why it's never working on your burns. Or you could be burning too fast. What kind of drive is in your 360?

there is no need to set layerbreak manually if using a .dvd file which you shuld have after running any iso thru abgx. what program are you using to burn with?

If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

Or too slow.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

at what speed. give us as much detail as you can cause all that matters. you have 8x discs but that doesnt mean you have to burn at 8x

I've found 4x to work best for Hitachi drives.

Ok:
1. Yes I am scanning with abgx
2. I have a Hitachi/LG drive with what I believe is iXtreme 1.4 installed on it
3. I burn at 2.5x on verbatim discs
4. The layerbrake is correct.

Yeah, if that doesn't work, you can try the "pot tweak" or you can invest in a new laser/drive.

Ok, so I burnt at 4x, now I have another problem.

The game goes to load perfeclty fine, and it appears in my played games list. Just before anything shows up on the screen, my xbox gets 2 red rings, and the TV screen remains black, and I have to remove the power cable to restart my 360. Official games work fine.

Sounds like your Xbox is over heating. Are they on the left side of the ring of lights?

Yeah, if it's on its side, then the red rings are on the bottom and top left. It seems strange though, as I have no case on the 360.
