PS3 Fault with Blu-ray Drive not Reading Disks

Good Afternoon All

Have searched previous forums and would like to know if I could have conformation to the fault with the Blu-ray drive not reading disks on the Playstation 3

To my understanding it is normally causes by the laser, in my case the KEM - 400aaa.

Is it best to just replace the laser with the KES - 400a, or is aligning the lens a nightmare.

If it is not the Laser is it true that it could be the controller on the drive and can it just be replaced.

Is there any way of knowing which one it is which is causing the problems, tells by signs. Which one should I try first?

Can you just replace the PS3 Driver IC BD7956FS which is the component on the controller board and remove the soldered part and replace.

Your responses to any of these questions would be much appreciated
