Every time a back up a movie with Shrink, everything seems fine. No issues, problems, nothing. When I attempt to play the backup on both computer and DVD player, it skips the the end of the movie. I try to go to the title and it skips to the end. If i let the DVD play, it goes through all the previews, then goes to the title menu; but then skips to the end when i try to play. DVD Shrink used to work perfectly with no problems, but now this problem happens every time. I've had to resort to using Nero Recode, but am having 'Out of Memory' failure notices on some movies. Has this happened to anybody before? Any suggestions? I've tried to uninstall/reinstall, but have had no success. The movies are ripped 1st with DVD Fab then opened with DVD Shrink. If I try on my other (much slower) computer, everything works fine.
HELP!!!!

First off, if you're ripping with DVDFab, are you following up with either FixVTS or VobBlanker to clean up the files before opening in DVD Shrink? DVDFab is notorious for not producing the cleanest rips and you always want to follow up with one of the clean-up tools.
2nd, are you using Nero to burn after DVD Shrink??? If you are, Shrink doesn't "play nice" with any version after 7, so if you're trying to autoburn using versions 8 or 9, your finished DVD will not work the way it should.. You can always just have Shrink create the iso to your HDD, then open Nero and point it at the file and then burn.... but recommendation (mine and I'm sure most folks here), would be to burn with ImgBurn (free and "can't be beat" results).
and, just out of curiosity, would your "other (much slower) computer" happen to be running an older version of Nero??

I'm doing a straight rip from DVD Fab (free version), then running through DVD Shrink. The weird part is that if I place the ripped files on a flash drive and take to my other computer (Nero 8), DVD Shrink burns it fine. No problems.
I either use Nero Recode or DVD Shrink. Personally, I like Shrink better, but it's been giving me problems. Recode is now beginning to give me problems as well. I think there may be something wrong with my computer, but I'm not sure how to fix it. Hence the term Newbie
I'm going to try the whole iso thing, and try to burn with Imgburn; although I've never used it.
Your advice is much appreciated!!
I'll post my results, just in case anybody else has this problem also.

Still need to recommend running the DVDFab files through FixVTS or VobBlanker before using Shrink... FixVTS is very simple to use, just point at the files and let it "do its thing".. VobBlanker has more options, is more complicated (I believe there's probably a guide to using it here on the forums), but a lot of folks swear by it.
Either way you really want to clean up the DVDFab files before using Shrink... Doesn't take long and you'll be sure Shrink isn't trying to work its way through stuff that shouldn't be there..
The benefit to outputting to your HDD is that you can check your file before you burn it.. If you output as a .iso file, you can mount on a virtual drive just like you'd play a read DVD (I'd recommend Slysoft's CloneDrive... its "free" and very easy to use).
Once you know you've got a good image (iso) file, all you need to do is open ImgBurn and select "write image file to disc" and point it to the file on your HDD and couple more clicks and you've got a finished DVD. Very easy and works great...
Looking forward to seeing your results.

Are you using two different burners, possibly there is a difference in them?

Same burner. I took Jolecas advice, and although it didn't solve the original problem, it gave me a great work around. I tried it and everything works fine.
Thanks Joleca!!

@Joleca
Are you saying that Nero Ultra 8 won't burn a video-ts file from Shrink? I know the link doesn't work automatically. But Nero won't burn, manually, an output file from Shrink if it's not an ISO? Since I rarely use Shrink any more, I find Recode or CloneDVD better and easier,I didn't know that Shrink was not playing well with Nero 8. Just trying to learn thanks.
@salvador6
Since Recode is really the upgrade of Shrink (same author)you will get 1 button back ups with recode and NeroBRom. Set it and forget it, especially if you use AnyDVD.

I've been using Recode, but here lately, I've been getting a failure message "Out of Memory". Weird cause I have a 500gb hard drive and 4 gigs of ram. Plus, it just started doing it. I prefer the ease of Recode cause I have all these kids running around (nobody ever told me how the rascals were made).

The out of memory is a copy protection scheme to prevent backing up of your personal dvd. Please use vob blanker and blank out all non video related files
