I have had a older version of DVD Shrink which I have not used for some time. now dose not work, so i installed the new version and now when I open up the disc. Error comes up (DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue failed to initiaize ASPI device the system cannot find the file specified ) can anyone help with this problem.

There is not a new version of DVD Shrink. I hope you did not pay for the scam version on the internet!

Please remember that DVD Shrink has not been updated in years, and you may need to rip the program with something like DVDFab. See my sig for a link to the free version of the program.

The other thing that it could be is that your ASPI device is not being detected from the version of DVD Shrink that you are using. In this case you may need to update your ASPI layer. Follow the directions here: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/aspisetup.cfm

As Syx stated, there are no new version of Dvd Shrink.

You do not need to update any ASPI layer if you are running XP or Vista.
