I wrestling with this problem for weeks now. Somehow I can't get good download speeds with either Azureus or Overnet. I read so many posts on different forums, but in the end nothing really worked.

I have a cable connection, and speed tests tell me my download speed is 180 kb/s and my upload speed is 14 kb/s. I have a router on which I opened up the ports needed (4662 for Overnet and 6881 for Azureus) by configuring a virtual server and I set special application on these ports plus the UDP port overnet uses. Overnet says I am connected and open, but still downloads are low (say an average of 4 kb/s for one download, sometimes I get a short boost of 30 kb/s but that never lasts long).

Azureus tells me on the moment 2 out of 5 downloads are fine, another two have a yellow face (connection problem?) and one has a red face (tracker down). The red face I understand, but why do I have yellow faces if other download do work? Speeds of the green faces are not high (10-20) but I am already pleased with that. Total download speed when running both applications was last night about 30 kb/s.

I use netlimiter. Now I am running both applications with an upload limit of 5 kb/s per application, if I run one of them, I use a limit of 10 kb/s. So far the change from 5 to 10 doesn't seem to have a dramatic effect.

Please, can somebody give me an idea of what to try next. I am so tired of seeing "0.4" and a time of 256.4h
