Hi,

For now we play online only with backups on DVD and not from HDD as HDloader is known for not being compatible with DNAS.

However I read from a user in forum for DMS chip that 2 chips supporting DNAS patching with games on hdd to play online, were released, and it was a shame that toxicos team was not planning to do the same at all.

Now I wonder if you know what those 2 chips are ?

Drifter I guess you have the jap version of monster hunter 2 as no date for US is planned yet, but aren't online japanese servers supposed to require a subscription fee ?

About midnight club 3 dub remix, the dnas in the list was marked as not working before, but since this mention has been removed then is this a new dnas which has been confirmed to work ?

yes I have the japanese version (its the only version) but no there is no subscription fee, as you can see we have Monster Hunter DNAS already here (the first one) Monster Hunter is basically a single player rpg with the option to go into an online world which is basically like the single player mode, but with more people to help fight ^_^

yes its a new DNAS.. i used the disc id ult. and read it for myself...

as for the jap dnas code u are looking for...
it only works with jap ps2 ids...
so you cannot connect to a jap server from a US/C ps2 console.

hope that answers questions

If you are desperate you could always change your PS2 region with the tool (PM me for it) but It'd sound weird with the headset..speaking japanese lol.

The console ID changer only works with v1-8 PS2's. It will not work with the slim. Made in Taiwan Fuji media is indeed second class. My PS2 is very picky, it won't even play Made in Taiwan Sony Media, which is "first class" according to that ancient digitalfaq link. Bottom line is this: use 4x or 8x Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media, and you'll have few, if any coasters. Otherwise, don't be surprised when your backups don't work. lxfactor, where are you located?

It's best to stick with 4x or 8x Taiyo Yuden's or Verb's.

86. Q. Where can I find good deals on legit Taiyo Yuden's and Verbatim's?
A. http://www.supermediastore.com

I'm just wondering if it's possible to patch a PAL image of a game with the NTSC dna$ and then play it on a USA region pstwo console?

And my other question is how do you play a backup of midnight club racing 3 dub edition remix online? I used expert_v1.03 to resize the image to 3.10g and then patched the dna$ and burned it to a sony DVD+R and it booted up, but I couldn't go online (I got a error -403). I'm just wondering if I needed to use a dual layer DVD+R if I want to go online with it?

It's only possible to change the console/ilink ID if you have a v.1-8 PS2, not on a slim. Either you only shrunk one layer of the game, or it's not patched correctly. Remember IsoBuster doesn't extract the second layer, Apache 2 and 3 do.

This is from the PS2nfo.com NTSC DNA error code guide:
-403 sceDNAS2_SS_INVALID_AUTHDATA
Invalid or corrupted disc authentication data. "DNAS Error (-403) A PS2 disc information error has occurred."

Sounds like media or game issues. Are those Taiyo Yuden Sony's? Did you download the gameover release of MNC3 Remix? I have several confirmed reports of that version not working, at least with modchips.

you cannot patch a PAL image with a NTSC Dnas code... and play it on a NTSC Console online... but you can patch a NTSC image and play it online with a NTSC slim console even if ur not in the USA

If anyone is curious, it doesn't appear that Swap Magic can be run from the hard drive. I think I'm just going to shell out the money for a mod chip now.
