hi,
i have just started using dvd shrink and have sucessfully copy 2 dvds. but i hvae just tryed to copy "finding nemo" what happend was when i clicked on the open dick selection the program just froze up. this has never happened before.
Also i tryed to copy the matix but it come up with a copy wright error can some1 help

Try unticking the video preview box and see if it works ok then. I had the same problem so I downloaded the updates for my nVidia Gforce2 graphics card and this cured the problem.

no it dosnt even get to that point. it frezes b4 it even starts that.

Hi x_dvd_x,

Try to copy the DVD to your hard disk with DVD Decrypter (freeware). Then run Shrink and open the files from your hard disk. The rest of the backup procedure is the same.

make sure you use DVD Decrypter in the file mode,because shrink wont work on iso's.

hello guys.......

message for jim........latest shrink will now allow you to open/re-auther an iso image created with decrypter (i only found this out myself this morning)

click on file tab (not open file but the file tab at very top) select "open disc image" then browse to the file.........all good stuff.

another little gem from good old "Uncle ScubaPete"

ok heres what happens when i use shrink. when i click open disk it freezes. when i use DVD Decrypter it comes up with a error when looking for some like the "UDF" thing or somthing.

how many discs have you tried......or are you just trying the same disc.

i have seen errors like this on COPY of COPY! not usally an original gets these errors!

Hi, I have used DVD Shrink MANY TIMES. And today i have decide to backup Pirates of the carebean.
I did it w/ one computer it burn the hold disk. when i put it on the dvd player it would not start.
I did the same process w/ another computer. and this error came.
DVD SHRINK ENCOUNTERED AND ERROR AND CANNONT CONTINUE.
COPY PROTECTION ERROR
THE REQUEST COULD NOT BE PERFORMED BECAUSE OF AN I/O DEVICE ERROR.
I Have burned a dvd on th is computer w/ no problem. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know

hi zumogo,

you have come accross one of the few disc that shrink cant read.

easiest thing you could do is download DVD Decrypter (it's free)

use this to create an image on your hd then use shrink in normal way on this image.
