no reason at all why using Nero you shouldn't be able to do a straight disc to disc copy.

even if your only dvd rom drive is your writer you can still do it this way......you'll be prompted part way through to insert a blank disc.

life is like a shit sandwich.......the less bread you have.....the more shit you have to suffer!!!!

Use DVDShrink to copy file to hard drive. Then use File instead of disk from dvdshrink to find dvd and do full backup. As long as you leave the file on the hard drive you can make as many backups as you want.

Are you trying to do "on the fly" copies?

Try taking us through the steps/software/settings you're using to make your copies so we can help better. Burner model and media brand would help too :)

I do have the DVD info on the hard drive and I do use the file option of the DVDshrink. Is there an easier way and less time.

Is there anyway I can just said I want 2 or 3 copies?

Thanks

Hey all,
I think what jcfl003 means, is to shrink once and then burn multiple copies all in the same session. As in... after the first disk is done, get prompted to insert a second blank disk, then a third blank disk and so on. For instance, Roxio has a small dialog box on its burn settings page that allows you to select the number of copies you wish to burn (I'm talking about audio cd burns). I have also looked for this feature using Shrink/Nero for dvd's, but I haven't found it either.

If anyone out there has figured a way to do this, I'd love to hear about it too.
Cheers....Doo ;)

Edited because I forgot to ask...if not Shrink/Nero, does Shrink/Decrypter allow for this? (I still haven't experimented with the Shrink/Decrypter method yet) Thanx, Doo

Just a small point people. It is illegal to make multiple copies of any DVD Movie. You are only allowed to have one for a Back Up purpose......

Good point Oriphus regarding copyrighted material. Maybe that is why the feature is not there. But I have an ongoing project in the works where I'm condensing about 4 hours of my own wildlife video onto 1 dvd disk. Once I know I have it right..it would be nice to sit back and just keep feeding the tray, ya know what I mean? ;)

Doohickey

I use shrink 3.05b & Clone DVD. Once the folder has been created by shrink. I burn my back-up. Once the back-up is finished, the tray slides and I can click on OK. I am then back to square one for that file. At this point I can close, select another file or just pop another disk in and click go.

Hi Doohickey
If you use the Shrink/Decrypter method it is possible to keep burning the ISO image. Have Shrink save the file in ISO mode to the hard disk. Then use DVD Decrypter to burn the ISO file. After burning one, eject, stick in the next disc and burn again. I have done this method a couple of times with family movies.
I hope this helps

Hi jcfl1003
Burning an ISO file is easy. The contents of the file may differ - music, video, data but the process is the same. Create an ISO file then burn with your favourite burning program - ie Nero, DVD Decrypter etc
DVD Shrink can save your project as an ISO file to the hard drive
I hope this helps
