I apologise if they were already asked. I did a search for iso and nothing came up. what is the difference between backing up the dvd in iso from backing it to hd before burning to disc. My second question is will the menu be active when plaved in a stand alone dvd player. I want to remove the speacil features menu and keep the scene selection and main menu. Also can I use any dvd burning program to burn the final product on to dvdr
thanks,
NY
1) Not sure exactly what you're asking here. If you're wanting to know the difference between ISO and File mode, the difference is that an ISO is one big image of the whole disc whereas File mode breaks it down into several files. In practice, there's not much difference between the two when using Shrink.
2) When re-authoring in Shrink, the menus will be lost. If you wish to keep the menus then DVD Stripper is well worth looking into. If you're interested in Stripper then let me know and I can give some links to check out.
3) Most any standard burning app will do the job. Nero and RecordNowDX are two very capable examples.

Thanks nephilium, you rock. I'd definitely be interested in the links. I'd like to keep active menus so that i could choose what scenes to watch if I wish. I tried burning to disc with roxio but have encountered many problems. It doesn't even recognize the iso file. I will try Nero tonight and see how that goes. By losing the menus when re-authoring do you mean they will not be burned onto the disc or do you mean they will not be active (by active I mean you cannot use it and it will just show up as an intro.) Sorry for all the questions. dvd burning is still new to me.
You could also just change the other stuff/extras on the DVD to still pictures and keep everything else in Shrink. But if you want to remove certain menus and other stuff/extras completely, then you would probably want to use the program that Nephilim recommended. Nero is very good for doing all of the burning.
