Try downloading AnyDVD (the trial version,) and let it run in the background, and see if that fixes your problem. Sounds like the same one I ran into last week. It hits a section of encryption that it can not break, but with AnyDVD running in the background, it should crack it, and you wont even know it is running.<smile>
Just turn it on, and then hit DVD Shrink again, and let it do its thing.
Good luck,

Thanks will try that...quick question about DVD Shrink, when i have used DVD Decrypter it places the decrypted film in a folder in my c drive but when i use 'open file' in DVD Shrink and point it at the 'VIDEO_TS file there is nothing in it,or not the IFO file it is looking for,but using explorer i can see all the files ARE in there, why wont it find the VIDEO_TS.IFO file?

Hi squirke, Welcome to our forum,

When you rip with DVD Decrypter in the ISO mode you must go to "File" then "Open Image" in order to get your file -

cheers,

Use an encoder , something like MainConcept MPEG Encoder / TMPGEnc Plus etc...etc to convert to MPEG2 [DVD compliant w/ 48kHz audio & correct screen resolution]
Then when you've fininshed encoding you will need to convert to VOB format ... I use TMPGEnc DVD Author for this [it's quick & does the job well].

Any other questions , just holla !: ]-~

ok thanks for the info...i allready have TMPGEnc,the trial version,do i need the full programe? i have started to use it on a film, but there are so many settings im not sure if im checking or unchecking the right ones...most be doing something wrong its taken 39minutes to only get 7% through the film !!this is the settings
DVD PAL (MPEG-2 352x576 25fps CBR 2878kbps, Layer-2 48000Hz 256kbps)
total time left 7 hours 28 mins WTF !

Yes it really does take that long , I can see by your comments that you've not encoded before - lol.

The length of time is a major factor for me that is why I use MainConcept MPEG Encoder as it cuts the time taken to encode by perhaps a third or quarter.

Most of the setting you had were right (sort of) , but one major thing that's not good is the incorrect screen resolution.
This is more what you're after:
DVD > PAL > Program [video+audio] > Layer 2 > 720 x 576 pixels > 25.00 FPS > 48000hz > 16bit

Enjoy the wonderful world that is encoding ;P)

TMPGEnc-then used TMPGEnc DVD Author and finally USed DVD Shrink to burn the film which has worked for me but i dont understand if the film starts out at about 600mb when i get to burn the film ii sometimes ends up only half its length and also half the film missing !! this has happened a few times, where does the rest of the film go?

for a 600mb file [foe example] ..I'd imagine that come out to be about 2.5Gb after encoding to MPEG2 [that IS usual] !!

As to missing part of the film , christ knows ...
