There are a few resons I switched from xcopy plat. to shrink and Nero. I did not like the little 321 screen at the beginning of the movies (yes, I know you can use a little program to get rid of it...but if I'm gonna do that...why not just use a whole different program to begin with? -like shrink!). I also did not like how I could not specify the languages I wanted to keep. I enjoy watching movies, and am fluent in both English and German.....but to be honest, I don't think I'm ever going to want to watch a movie in French....so getting rid of the extra languages allows me to have a "less compressed" final movie. Also, you can chose to only rip the movie, or have the menu and all.

The way I look at it: I spent $100 on xcopy plat, which hopefully went to fight for my rights, but now I use Shrink (and Nero 6 Ultra to burn).

DVD Shink is the best. I used to use DVD X Copy xpress but then i wanted something that would let me keep the special features and menus because sometimes the special features are just as entertaining as the main feature. With DVD Shrink you can choose what you want compressed and what languages you want to get rid of and you can also re-author. On the afterdawn download page it says that its not easy to use but i'm a person that gives up easy if i cant figure out how to use something within the first 10 mins and i had no problems using it.If you do have trouble working it out you can always look at the guides on this website.
If you ask me i think it is just as easy to use as dvd x copy xpress but with more features and best thing is it's FREE.

Not everyone uses shrink and decrypter, tho both are excellent programs. I like Nero and anydvd(or u can get dvd43 free, will take the place of anydvd). Nero recode also allows you to pick and choose and will compress up to %50 without noticible video loss.,tho it does take longer.

GO VOLS !
