dvd shrink to ISO and burning with decypter/good method??

Ok I am a new person to dvd burnering and have a few questions as to if this is a somewhat efficient way of doing it. I use shrink to shrink and encode to and ISO file, then burn with decrypter. I did this on 3 dvds and one came out fine, will the other two played to a point then, near the end they would stop and have some glitches. Til that point they were great. I have a OEM copy of nero. SO my questions are 1. Is encoding to ISO an ok method, could that be the problem. 2. SHould I use a smaller shrink size in shrink other than 4,6..mb like 4200mb, maybe my disc just ran out of room. (i got no errors). 3. Is nero OEM verson a better burner or is decypter fine and if it is should I can I, burn from the files and not the ISO.

Again i liked the quality, they just got messed up near the end.

Brand new machine, sony media.

Sony discs are sourced from a variety of manufacturers so you really don't know what you have unless you look at the media code.
Decrypter works just fine to burn with, and as far as what ends up on the disc, its going to be the same regardless of what method you use.
Problems with poor media can occur out towards the edge of the disc so reducing the size a bit is a good work around. Try Ritek G-04 media, its inexpensive and reliable. It will let you burn out to the edge.

Ahh now that makes perfect since because it was at the end of both. And I paid a buck each for those things... I will knock it down to say 4100 megs and see how that goes. THnak alot.

Yeah well apparently that was what it was. I have knocked the size down to 4200 megs and have had not a single problem since then, after about 10 good burns. I will be orderings some of those dvds this week. Do you know where I should go? I was thinking mediasuperstore.com/
