I used DVDDECRYPTER 3.5.4.0 in File mode, but left out first VOB; then I used latest DVDFABDECRYPTER and copied the first VOB over to the first folder. Then I used latest SHRINK, in re-auther, and used the beginning-ending segment to take out the first part of credits. It worked fine.

My settings for DVDDECRYPTER 3.5.4.0 for difficult discs are:
Under "General" change "Removal Method" to 'Aggresive', in "File Mode" 'tick' "Remove IFO/BUP PUO's". Under "CSS" and under "CSS Cracking Method" choose 'Brute Force~>I/O Key Exchange' and "On Failure" choose 'Yes'. Under "I/O" tab, tick box 'Ignore read errors'.

Please help those of us who are new to AnyDVD and dvdclone2. I need to understand what is going on with them. AnyDVD seems to react to any DVD put into the player. How do I tell AnyDVD where to put the fruits of its labor? How do I tell dvdclone2 what to do and where to find it. These programs lack any kind of documentation. I cannot find it anyway.
I am sure that there are many more like me who need assistance.
Thanks for any help you can give.

@bliberal, Anydvd is a driver type decrypter that just runs in the background and makes anydvd look like it has no encryption or region code. You don't see it actually working. All you see is the red fox icon in your system tray. You actually need to use it in conjunction with other programs like Clonedvd 2 or DVD Shrink as a few examples. With Anydvd active, any burning program can rip a dvd to your HD. You can use it behind almost anything. Hope this helps. As to where you files go, that is your choice depending on what program you are working with. So you don't misplace those files you rip, most members make a folder and name it something like DVD Work or DVD Files and always send their ripped files to that folder. That way you always know where they are at.

Jerry

HI, I already have DVD43 and it doesn't crack the new sony movies, but did I understand it right that DVD43 will probably update so it can? I'm not computer savy so I don't understand when you guys talk about getting rid of cetrain files and such. I did try using dvdfab but it didn't do the job with bewitched. Shrink wouldn't open the files. thanks for the help:-)

Make sure you are using the latest version of DVDFab Decrypter.

Get it here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvdf...

Jerry746, I have one more question (I cannot find any doc on ANYDVD)I see how DVDCLONE2 works, What I cannot do is tell AnyDVD where to put the files it is creating. AnyDVD is running, but it is in a world all by itself. If you would, please tell me what steps to take to define a folder that AnyDVD will know how to use and pass on to dvdclone2.
By the way, does either of these programs do any shrinking?

CloneDVD2 will do the Shrinking, but I like DVD Shrink better since you can customize how to shrink.

AnyDVD removes the encryption of a movie when you rip the movie. The movie is actually encrypted, but while you rip the encryption leaves and it also corrects IFOs if necessary. This can be done by using a program to rip like DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, CloneDVD2, etc..., or simply by creating a VIDEO_TS folder and dragging the files from the DVD to the folder.

AnyDVD is not a ripper, only a driver for Windows. It only removes Copy Protections. Just launch the program. When you see the Red Fox in the task bar, then you are ready to rip using your favorite program or like I said before, just drag and drop the files from the DVD to your Hard Drive.

Since everybody is posting I thought I would too. DVD Fab Express with Recode 2 is the best way I found.

By the way, nice sig aabbcc. I've seen them 5 times.

Yeh, like others said, just rip as files with decrypter then try shrinking with DVD Shrink.

Or else, rip files then just get movie if its less than 4.3gb and make an iso with that and burn that iso with decrypter

Don't have any DVD but DVD for free has been a life saver for me; it has the yellow smily face that turns green when removing copy guard.

If anyone is interested, I posted a guide in the following thread that deals with using DVD Decrypter for the newer Sony Movies:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/255980

It will help for those that do not want to use or cannot use AnyDVD.

I have tried to burn Bewitcvhes and was unsuccessful. I use DVD Shrink and I burn with Nero. Would AnyDVD work for me as well? I downloaded it once before, but I didn't notice any think. Could I have been doing something wrong?

Anydvd is updated to work on the new encryptions. You don't actually see it working as it runs in the background. With AnyDVD active all you see is the RED FOX icon in the system tray near the clock. When its active all dvds seem to have no encryption or region code to the computer. Therefore any software will rip and burn the files after compression.

I just downloaded AnyDVD myself. So will Nero rip with AnyDVD? I always use DVD Decryptor and Nero Recode 2.

it will rip with AnyDVD but will not compress

so you need Nero recode,DVD Decrypter or CloneDVD 2 which would be my choice AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2 are made for eachother

and there 10 dollars off the combo this month making both programs 49 bucks just type in "afterdawn" where it asked for a coupon

I used AnyDVD ver 5.5.2.1
to do the on the fly encryption removal

and dvdshrink to bring it to iso format
then I will burn it back to single DVD-R

Summary for drive G: (AnyDVD 5.5.2.1)
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

Media is a Data DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)

Video DVD (or CD) label: DVD_VIDEO
Media is CSS protected!
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1!

RCE protection found.
Found & removed wrong DVD structure!
Found & removed structural copy protection (Arccos, Puppetlock)!
Found & removed invalid VOBUs!
Found & removed Autorun from Video DVD!
Found & removed 2 bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

I tried to use the um DVD decrypt and after swtiching opering systems
I had IO errors on regions ect. and if I did a on the fly
Unencrypt using the other programs and just copy it straight to the
hard drive I came across errors on play back
even before shrinking it etc.
1: the movie doesn't even play right on the PC in the first place
2: The movie plays just fine on a normal DVD player
3: If you decrypt with programs it may give IO error
4: Use AnyDVD to do the on the fly decrypt for this one
5: then use the DVD Shrink
or what ever to reshrink it back down etc..

This has some nasty protection the causes many effects and will drive you crazy
1st it will act like the think is screwed up and ya need to clean it
2nd It will decrypt fine and then on the menu when you hit play
lol you go to some dam comentary thing and after that it locks up
3rd it does not being run directly from a sony or memorex dvd
player with the right software....

Random Errors - Random Crap.....
"What fitting protection for such a fitting movie "Bwitched!","
LOL the damn Movie is bewitched with protection ROFL.

I will tell oyu if it worked or not right after the encode :)

Ok everything Worked and it did compress Etc...
and burned just fine ;)

Good Luck

I finally purchased AnyDVD as recommended by many users and couldn't be happier with my decision. I ran it in the background, used DVDShrink alone and was able to burn Bewitched in about 15 min with no problems. I didn't even need DVD Decrypter or DVDFab Decrypter. I didn't think to try it with my $150 DVDXCOPY which previously was unable to decode Bewitched, as well as most newer movies. Maybe I'll try it for the hell of it.

I can't recommend AnyDVD enough to those of you like me that constantly come to Afterdawn.com to figure out why I get various error messages or bad burns with the newer copywrited movies. I spent hours screwing around with Bewitched trying every possible combination of products to get a good copy. HOURS!!! Is your time worth $29? Then get to Slysoft.com and download AnyDVD today. (Is this an infomercial?) There is a $10 promotion that ends today NOVEMBER 15 for afterdawn members. Type "afterdawn" in the Promotional/Coupon Code box during the ordering process. If you wait it will cost you $39. Either way, buy it. AND DON'T TRY DOWNLOADING A SERIAL FROM ONE OF THOSE SITES! I tried it yesterday--yes I am a cheap bastard like you--and my operating system got it's butt kicked by a variety of trojan spyware, viruses, registry changes, etc. Thanks for System Restore, Microsoft!

You probably have $1000 worth of copied movies or you're heading that way, so what is $29 in the grand scheme of things?
