Go HERE and upgrade your PSP to 3.52 M33-4.

Then go HERE and follow the steps to get your ISO/CSO files running properly after you update.

Try placing a UMD in the bay. The NO UMD for 3.40 OE-A is not compatible with all ISO/CSO files. The most compatible NO UMD driver is Sony NP9660 and you only get that with 3.51 M33 and above firmware (I think 3.51 M33 had the Sony NP9660 driver).

So try and upgrade to 3.52 M33-4 using this guide
HERE
.

If you want the latest firmware then upgrade to 3.71 M33-2 + 1/50 ADD ON-2 using this guide HERE (You need to upgrading to 3.52 M33-4 first before updating to this custom firmware).

After you update to 1 of the above custom firmwares go HERE to get your ISO/CSO files working properly.
perhaps we should get more info about his problem before he starts trying new firmwares..

for example you say that some of the cso / isos are to big, i have that problem myself.. you see all games need extra space on your ms to be able to run. i got a game that was about 850-900 mb onto my 1 gig memory, and it said i had 24 mb space left, that was not enough for the game to be able to boot.
The reason it doesnt work could be because the iso is corrupted also, dont rule that out...I would just update to at least 3.52M33-4 so you can use the NP9660-NO-UMD option....

@sizko89- that 80020321 error you are getting means its either time to invest in a UMD game to correct that, or update your firmware to 3.52M33-4 like Larry said so you can play your iso's sans UMD disc...

Yo, I jes put MANHUNT 2 onto my 1 gig pro duo, and guess what, popped it in the iso folder, slapped in Killzone Liberation, loaded up ManHunt........and KERPOW!! loaded up nicley, nother thing I noticed.......I didn't change any of those so called recovery settings! Jes booted up Manhunt. (didn't want to spend the time messing around with all that) just to see if it would work. and yes, I am on FW 3.40 OE-A so yeah, jes get the game legally....and put it in the iso folder, pop a UMD in your drive, and launch the game from the game folder on memstick. Don't have to changed any of the settings. don't belive me, mess me and I'll give you my email and cam it for you. Peace and have fun@

Some people change the settings in the recovery system to enable homebrew that requires the 1.50 kernel. This is why it has been pointed out a lot as people doing a change like this would have more than likely dealt with homebrew before.

Not all games can currently be played on 3.40 OE-A e.g.Jackass, this is also why people should keep reasonably up-to-date with CFW or OFW.

Also with the latest CFW you dont need a UMD in the PSP to play backups.

Why call the guy a Jackass?

If you think he was calling you 1 then re-read his above post. He used the game Jackass as an example given (eg...) He wasn't calling you a Jackass.

If this is the attitude your going to have then you will find help slim to none here at this forum.

Allot of the games that are newer will not work with 3.40 OE-A. At least update to 3.52 M33-4 which is just as stable as 3.40 OE-A and actually has more options.

Its funny how others using 3.40 OE_A claim that M33 firmware isn't stable and has bugs. When they probably never even have tried it and if they did was to lame to figure out how to set it up properly.

well, if your going to call me *to* lame, you should do it properly. Go back to school and learn that the proper way to say that was *TOO LAME* and I have read alot of comments about the new FW and currently they are still fixing bugs that make ps1 and iso games incompatible, so until then I will either put the iso's on my psp or stream them from my computer, which once again with 3.40OE-A seems to work flawlessly.

I am sure there are numerous threads out there that claim M33 CFW is buggy which most where probably posted over 6 months ago. Plus the discussion was with 3.52 or first version of 3.52 M33. But I know 3.52 M33-4 is just as stable as 3.40 OE-A. Plus it has played every single PSX/ISO/CSO game that I have thrown at it. I as well stream games via WiFi and USB perfectly fine with 3.52 M33-4.

But I will say e.g.Jackass could be used as an example to describe you as well.

ahhh forums....such drama and people trying to be clever. Others seem to think that they are part of something they are not......will these people never learn? the topic was about gaming now it is about jackasses........how the world has slipped away. On a related topic, all the games I have tried work. the only way it wouldn't would be games that need FW above 3.40.

ok so your say your have an ISO thats too big? well I have a 1 gig Pro Duo and tried to play Liberty city stories.....the iso is 1.3 gigs for so, so I dl'd a compession program that shrunk liberty city down to 500megs or so. its way better to run the iso/cso off your mem stick then the usb\hardrive. have fun. also with the compression program you can correct any errors as well. but you could also go out and buy a 4 gig card....would make your life so much more easy! hope this helped with the small mem card problem. by the way google psp iso compression tools.
