[TUT] HOW TO PLAY ISO/CSO 3.40 OE-A

im having a small problem i just recovered to 1.5 and then back to 3.40oe-a and am not able to load an iso. i have followed the instructions exactly and dont know what i am doing wrong. i have a umd in the psp have the settings right and am using a sony memory card. when i load the game the psp animation comes up and i when it goes black it stays there like its frozen. any thing whould help please email to kyle_labree53092@hotmail.com or post if its a short anser.

Should probably edit out that email address before the spambots get you...
Did the iso work prior to your recovery and upgrade? Because usually when a game does that, that means its a bad iso rip. Also fake memory sticks causes games to be problematic like that as well..
I would try a different game to see if that works.

i have not used the iso before, my memory card say's supported i will also get a different game form my friend and try that out. but were do i click to find out if the mem stick is fake, please post pic if able.

I dont have a pic for you because I have edited my menu and icons so it wont say the same thing as yours-But if you go to any of the icons that say "memory stick" either under music, video, or game-and hit triangle so you get the "information" tab, hit X, and it will show your memory stick size, free space, and whether or not its MagicGate supported....It should say "supported", if it were to say Unknown, or if its blank-then you have a fake card..

You have a fake memory stick...SO if you run into problems later on, at least you know what it comes from..But if its working good for you now, might as well enjoy it..
Why the MAC address?

My memory stick is a SanDisk and it seys magic gate. But I never have had probloms with it.

Yeah, I have a 2GB sandisk that is the same deal-and it says "unknown" in the menu...Mine however, does not work well-I can only get a couple games on it, anything else I try to put on doesnt even show up in the menu..I pretty much use that one in my digital camera now, or use it for just mp3's

Just because it's fake, doesn't mean it won't work. I have 8 gig(4gig and 2gig) total worth of fakes from ebay. But I tested them rigourously when they were recieved. I inspected them to make sure no physical defect; ran speed tests, memory checks. I've found only 1 that I had to return.
But I wouldn't run downgrad/upgrade off any of them.
#1: 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 3.11 DoH (no more :D)
#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe
Whatever happens, happens...

yeah but mine I can put ISO's all of them like 50 iso's that i have put on all worked. All my music, all photos, all emulators everything on it worked. Mine is a baby blue 2gb as well. I am starting to feel nauseated if mymemorystick is fake because its the only one i have. besides the regular 32mb. you have other mem sticks?

Ok I just put my original sony 32 mb one in and it seys supported when i checked that. So what youguys are saying is that if it seys unknown its automatically fake?

We probably got our memory sticks from the same seller on eBay! I have the same blue one...Mine works to the extent of having about two games on the memstick at a time before it craps out-I found that almost all of my iso's work fine by themselves, but it sucks if you want to load up your stick with games and you cant because they dont even show up in the menu! I fixed that though by getting a genuine 4GB sandisk from circuit city last month for $49.99-Right now I have 10 games, 2 emulators with games, a couple movies, and some mp3's on it...The only other sticks I have is a 512MB which I mainly use in my camera.

Yeah but I did'nt get mine online.. My dad bought it for me on Christmas and it came only in a little plastic SanDisk case. I dont umderstand... How can I get a genuine mem stick cheap
????

I think that I have had up to like 5 games filling up the Stick and all of them worked so I dont know.. Well my dad has the offical Sony 2GB put somewhere he got it for my brother. How can someone possibly make them fake in the first place.???

Circuit city has them on sale sometimes for $49.99, and they are only going to get cheaper. I'm now on the hunt for a cheap 8 gig. :D

That is the tell-tale sign for fake ones..A genuine stick will only say MagicGate:Supported-But I wouldn't stress out too much over it, as long as it works for you, then its ok..And its not really that big of a deal to have a fake one-Most of them work fine, its hit or miss..

If you are in the market for a new one though, I would stay away from eBay and Amazon..Better to just get one from a retailer like Best Buy or Circuit City..
@BlackVamp-8GB are ok for psp? I thought there was compatibility issues?

8 gig works fine. My friend has a genuine 8 gig, that worked even when he had 3.10oe. Haven't tested on m33 cfw yet, but I don't see why not.

Are they like $140.00 or somthing like that. Thats funny by the time the New PSP comes out the original PSP would already be like the same. I hear the New psp is going to be reallllly thin and not gonna have UMD's... I better start a new thread. :D

Yes, it's very expensive. The guy paid over $200 for it (christmas last year). He said it's good for his camera as well.
It reads 8 gig. The one that reads 3000something mb is the ebay fake. It's only made to looke like an 8 gig.
