Yes the bumpers are now reload and the X button "will change the way we play the game". It has an as of yet unknown function. Some have speculated it is sprint or the bubble shield seen in the commercial although I doubt it will be one of these.

dude the proof is every where, even go to bungie.net and go to the fourms and ask if the reload button has changed from the X to some thing else, 2 things might happen if you ask that .
1. you will get a perfect answer and some ;) smiles
2. you will get flamed to the MAX.
just sayin ;)
i hope this proves that reload button (as of now) has been changed from the x button to the left and right buttons.

Im putting money on that the shield thingy is actualy the spike gernade which would make sense since you can't repetitvly reuse the shield which would make it cheap. Also if Earth could make hundreds of over shields for the master chief and the covenant can make thousands what prevents them from using gernade shields XD also if this means anything the commercial is MOST LIKELY after the master chief and the "MYSTERY GIRL" is recruited and trained on reach do to the fact that the girls hair was very short and im putting money on that it's Kelly since she's originally apart of MC's team AND good friend after day 2 they were abducted.

No, the bubble shield and spike grenade (not "gernade" by the way) are two completly different things.

I am very angry with myself! There was a video of the first Halo 3 movie (You know Cortana "I am your shield, past, future blah blah blah...) that started out normal but as soon as Cortana said "I know your past" it faids out and goes to the one with Spartan group Omega. And does that one then it when she says "You future-" it goes to the one with the bubble you guys are talking about (Oh and if the 'X' button did turn the shield on the game would be to easy). Then the it goes back to the first one and ends! AH! I was going to e-mail it to myself and then show you guys, though I bet you've all seen it, but I lost it!

FFS so that everyone knows.
The X button does NOT activate the shield in any way shape or form.
So can people stop saying that it might.
It is more likely to be something like a sprint function.
To the above poster ^^ I am not saying you were saying the X button was for the sheild.

Well, then maybe it would be B-BUMPER-R for BXR
and B-BUMPER-B for BXB?

OPE my bad ^^, i pronounce and spell things literaly, my spelling sucks sometimes too XD, well anyyways, ya I was thinking originally that the spike "grenade" was just a sticky "grenade" in human form but that didn't make much sense to me since it would be kinda pointless, I suppose the sticking to the walls and such along with the added power would be nice but I it still would seem like a worthless addition, Im woundering HOW MUCH of the T.V. add will actually relate to actual gameplay since Frankie said along the lines of "it was just meant to show that M.C. was an unstoppable badass" but it also refrences that the studio had unlimited viewing of bungi's material which would mean they would most likely add ingame features to the add. Also they said the X button would revolutionize the way we play but just a sprint feature wouldn't be that great since many other fps's have already integrated that into the games. It would mmore likely or not be the over shield since it would change the way we go about paying halo, flood and such, alathough im probably just restating what other people have said. Also in the add I thought at first the shiny thing MC had was the spike gernade used to disperse the force of the oncoming wraith shot but the shield that came on abrubtly after that puzzled me along with the unclear view during the explosion, I suppose the main question it imposes is is it actual news leaked by accident or just an artists interpretation of the game. Im done rambling ^.^

I see the only reason for it is for good looks in cinematics or for good looks for AI players. The human player would have no need for two swords, it's just silly. As if one one-hit-kill weapon isn't enough already.
