Has anybody else had problems with eMule crashing?

I keep getting the following message:

Application Error
The exception Breakpoint:
Abreakpoint has been reached (0x80000003) occurred in the application at location 0x77f75a58

Then I get:

CAsyncSocketEx Helper Window: emule.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".

I thought I had got a virus or something even though my antivirus (Norman) did not detect anything. So I cleaned my drive down and reformatted. Everything was working great and then suddenly it started doing it again. I'm on version 0.42f at the minute because I had this problem on 0.42g and thought it was a bug.

Any help you can give would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks

I think I've found the source of the problem - there was a conflict between emule and my virus program. I've removed Norman and looking for another program.

I had the same problem. I found (from the Norman web site) that if you disable NIP (Norman Internet Protection) this stops this problem. And the best bit the on-access scanning is still running so you still have virus protection.

Hope this is some help. I like Norman and i think they will fix this problem in future versions.

I have one big problem with emule v0.44b. It crashes my system after a few minutes of downloading. When I downloaded and installed this latest version, it worked fine, even with McAfee Firewall running. The previous version (o.44a) was giving me the same problem. I have a high I.D, windows 98, 512kB download/256kB upload DSL connection and 288MB RAM. I have tested the ports -successfully. It crashes when running Kad or e2DK or both together. I have tweaked and tweaked until finally I am about to give up on it altogether. Please, does anyone have a fix? Also I have noticed that when opening emule, it starts uploading immediately without having been connected yet! Is this normal? I would really appreciate your help folks. Thanks.
