I'm really lost! I have been using the above 2 programs and continually getting stopping and starting throughout the video.
I have Force Aspi,my drives are NTFS,I have bought new media, my burner is an 8x dualDVD format by Digital Research,a Pentium 4, 2.66 tons of memory,no virus programs. All I would like to do is burn one clean DVD? My main drive is set to DMA enabled.
Iam starting to look quite foolish, and would appreciate some help!

Where do you play the backup? PC or standalone?

What media have you tried?
Also is your burner your only optical drive? Which ForceASPI did you use? v1.7 or v1.8?

Hi!
I finally got a great burn, I disabled Shrink and use only DVD43. I think that there was a conflict,as soon as it was disabled everything worked fine. I would prefer to use Shrink.
How do you use Shrink?

Well I'm going to assume since you have Nero, your using DVD43 with Recode 2. Right? Cause DVD43 doesn't do anything but remove css encryption.

It would be easier if you explained how you were using Shrink.

Hi !
I believe you know of the problems Iam having with movies freezing and then restarting? Last night I used DVD43 and Nero. I thought I had this licked, but towards the end of the DVD the same shit happened,so I have now killed DVD43 and installed DVD Decrypter to work with Nero. I believe the DVD's Iam using are Rietek? Decrypter kills the Region Code and Css.
Let me know what you are using and why,and I will take a look at it tonight,I should be up late.

flip asked, are you using recode with DVD43? well, are you? If so, you want to use reocde over shrink, retains menu function, better quality, and extremely user friendly. Also, you just open 1 prog, and everything is done from there, including burn. Be sure to check advanced analysis.

I use a bunch of different ways. Why... just for the heck of it. But here are some combinations:
DVD Shrink w/ DVD Decrypter (ISO's)
DVD Shrink w/ Nero (Video_TS files)
AnyDVD w/ Nero Recode 2
DVD Rebuilder w/ CCE Basic (because the quality is great with really long movies)
XCopy Platinum and DVD Cloner 2 ( just because I have it)

Your still going to have to compress the file if it's a dvd-9
Quote: Decrypter kills the Region Code and Css
So does Shrink most of the time. If shrink doesn't crack the css, then I'll use Decrypter to rip. Then I'll compress with Shrink. Also you can choose region free in Shrinks settings.

I am trying to burn my first disc. I am using DvdShrink, and DvdDecrypter or Nero. I ripped a dvd the other night with Shrink, now I have a video_ts and audio_ts file with vob's inside (was I supposed to have iso files instead somehow?) When i go to burn and select source with either program, I select the folder and no file types are recognized, am i in the wrong mode or something, I am just not getting the simple step of taking my audio/video_ts files to a real burn, do I select both folders somehow?
The simplest things are the hardest.

SoberPete,
What version of Nero are you using, and is it a full version?
Now to burn with Nero you'll need video_ts files.
Burning with Decrypter you'll need an ISO file.
DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter:(Both are free)
1) Open Shrink, open disc
2) Click "backup!"
3) Change target destination to "ISO Image File"
4) Check box to Launch DVD Decrypter
5) Click ok.
DVD Shrink and Nero:
1) Open Shrink, then click edit, then preferences
2) Under the "File I/O" tab, check the box to Enable burning with Nero, click ok
3) Open disc, and click "backup!"
4) Change target destination to your burner
5) Click ok.

Yeah I read about the easy way of having them launch from shrink, of course after I had already ripped to the harddrive. I burned one with Nero6 full now and the buffer was all over the place(96 down to 68 and 22 then back up to 98) , veiwing the movie now it doesnt seem to have had an effect, is this normally a problem? So decrypter can only burn iso files and Nero can burn both iso and VOB?

Yes.

If the movie is working and no skips or pauses... I would say no problem.
