I'm very new to this and would like to use these 2 programs in backing up a movie but I'm not sure how to go about it.
The DVD Shrink guide only shows how to copy with Nero.
Any advice would be appreciated.
1) Open Shrink, then open disc
2) Click "backup!"
3) Change target destination to "ISO Image File", then check the box to Launch DVD Decrypter
4) Click ok
You need to be using a NTFS file system. Because the ISO's will be over 4GB's.
If you are using FAT32, you cannot use this combination(Shrink w/ Decrypter). Unless the ISO is under 4GB's. But most DVD-9 to DVD-5 end up being 4.35GB when compressed.
I got some more help from ScubaPete at http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/79846 But anyhow made coaster
The log said something about my Plextor PX-712A Writer
and the burning failed right from the start.
I copied it to post it here and as a fool copied something else after it and lost it.
I will get back to this thread in a few days when I get a RW disc.
Thanks anyway flip218
I tried my first copy last night obviously with no success.
There are two things i need to know.
1.Do i use dvd +r or dvd -r (i have a LG super dvd writer)
2.Does my ps2 need to be modded for the games to work as i am backing up to dvd.
nickew, this isnt a discussion on ps2, shrink is for movies.
in answer to you question, use dvd-r on your ps2, all models play them, only some play dvd+r
Yes your ps2 needs to be modded in some way, either mod chip or swap method is up to you (mod chip is ten times better but more expensive and harder to install)
In future you might want to post to the ps2 forum for any help with regards to that.
Oh DVD Decrypter is an excellent choice for your backups
