When backing up DVD's (Once Upon A Time In Mexico for example) I have used Recode2, Instant Copy, and Decrypter/Schrink, and the copy I burned will not get past the screen which says "The Views and opinions expressed etc.....".
I have tried several other movies as well, S.W.A.T., Big Fish, Spiderman, Gangs of New York with same results.
These programs have been working fine up to about 2 days ago when I started having this problem along with a problem of Taskbar nor holding my quick launch icons.
I am running Windows XPHome and in the background I am runnign ANYDVD and DVD43.
Seems as though DVD Decrypter and or 'ANYDVD/DVD43 are not removing the copy protection.
Can anyone advise me how to correct this problem.
I have downloaded the latest update in Nero 6 Ultra.
You shouldn't have that many apps running in the background they generally serve no purpose but they use up available memory. If you have AnyDVD then get rid of DVD43 it is of no value. The only apps that you should have running with quick launch are your virus scans and firewalls, everything else should be launched manually by you.
Sounds like you have been constantly loading the system. Either the accumulation reached the saturation point or you did something to trigger the problem. Did you add anything new, and have you run a complete system maintenance to eliminate that possibility.
Clear cookies, history, cache, clean registry, run adware and spyware removal, and anti virus scan and possibly your windows updates.
Sophocles is definitely right, you don't need to be squandering all those system resources with all those decrypters running at once. I don't even opt for letting the AnyDVD run all the time, I turn it on manually as I need it. I use Decrypter a lot and don't want to waste the memory by having both on at the same time.
Forgot, even the Norton A/V should be checked. Sometimes we have scheduled functions. If a scheduled event occurs while recording a problem could arise. So just check the schedule and if recording near the time slot, turn it off. Also, did you eliminate the InCD in Nero as well as checking any other packet writing software?
Your reader is having a problem, think about it,these two apps both use/windows and affect your burner, AnyDVD and DVD43 and you don't see a conflict there? Two apps arguing for the same space and function on a Windows system is a bad marriage.
