Howdy, great site... info here helped me get into backing up my dvd's and now I'm obsessed.
I've done 40-50 so far, no problems whatsoever (knock on wood) up to this point. I have a W2000pro system running a pioneer a07 w/ cracked firmware (8x on everything, functions perfectly) ripping w/ shrink 3.1.7.6 and recently updated DVDdecrypter to 3.2 (since this problem arrised).
When trying to rip (to ISO file) 'Matchstick Men' Shrink hangs at 91-92%, then gives a copy protection error, or says 'Failed to read file "E:"' 'Data Error (cyclic redundancy check).'

A little research and I installed dvd43free along with the required driver, the system tray icon appears and shrink now says there is no encryption present on the disc but still fails to rip, still fails at about 90%. I've since backed up 'Cold Mountain' and backed up 'House of Fog and Sand' just prior, no problems with either of those.

Any suggestions?
thanks

something is wrong with the disc. Scratch, dirt, or just corrupt data.

HI! Try to use a diferent version of DVDdecrypter and make sure that in the settings all copy protections are selected to be removed.

Are you using the original dvd? Try giving it a good cleaning.

I tried 3.1 something and then upgraded to 3.2 decrypter, the disc is fine, as a work-around I tried to shrink it on my laptop (WxpPro) and it worked fine, took a bit longer to transfer it to my desktop but it's burning right now.

Dunno whats up, hopefully it was an isolated incident.

Thanks for the tips!
