Is this with one movie, or every movie you try now?

Seems like faulty originals - not uncommon with ex-rental movies etc. Try some different originals.

I have also tried using DVD Shrink with Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the same thing happened. There are some movies that have exceptions that DVD Shrink does not like. I know Hannibal is another that did not work for me. You can try DVD X Copy to copy those movies that don't work in DVD Shrink.

I was having trouble with dvdshrink too. I decided to use DVD Decrypter and elby CloneDVD. I have not had a single problem with errors, skipping or anything like it since the change over. However I did find that while using dvdshrink 3.0 beta 5 all my backups worked fine.

You can buy the used rentals from Blockbuster. They sell them for about $10-12.00 in my area. I really prefer to purchase New ones though.
Use DVDDecrypter on the ones that you are having problems w/ and then use Shrink

@ Car.Mike,
Yea I know, I will sometimes goto Hollywood and get 3/$25. I just wanted to make sure they were bought and not rented :)
Anyhow ... for those having problems ripping with Shrink, try ripping with Decrypter first.

The disk is usually the problem with DVD Shrink. DVD Decrypter can help in those instances , where even with cleaning, DVD Shrink can't read it. If decrypter can't do it to create a usable file, you may have to live with the fact that the disk is only going to be "read only" on your player. Rental disks take a heck of a beating.

One other thing you can try is to play about ten minutes of the movie on your software DVD player in your PC. Lots of times this will unlock stubborn movies. No cheating, you must let it play for about ten minutes, not 2 or 4 or jumping around.
GO VOLS !
